Workshops • Scenario Planning • Urban Innovation Strategy

Case studies

For the Environmental Defense Fund, we designed and developed an innovation workshop which brought together a dynamic group of stakeholders from the public, private, and academic sectors. The group brainstormed actionable roles hyperlocal air quality insights could play in supporting and advancing climate action and data-driven decision making around public health. Together, we first explored and built upon intersections between air quality and other high-priority urban challenges. Participants then spent the duration of the morning in small teams ideating potential pilot projects and envisioning the new forms of partnership and collaboration required to lead these ideas to action.

Urban Innovation WORKSHOP SERIES

In 2015, BASF celebrated its 150th anniversary by hosting a series of events called the Creator Space™ Tour in New York City in late May. To kick off this occasion, BASF hosted a Summit - Revitalizing Red Hook, an area devasted by Hurricane Sandy - for which they engaged Terreform ONE to develop a series of 6 workshops over two days dealing with local challenges related to habitat, resilience, citizenship and mobility. Over 100 solutions were generated from these workshops, the top 5 of which were captured and developed for BASF by Terreform ONE in a white paper.

The NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability engaged Terreform ONE to consider integration schemes, user experience, hub life-cycle, adaptability, future functionality, and growth strategies for the design, development and deployment of their electric vehicle charging hubs.
