We develop innovative concepts and technologies for local sustainability in buildings, energy, transportation, infrastructure, waste treatment, food, and water. Our process is highly iterative. We aim to make ideas tangible, often through a combination of advanced digital fabrication tools and hands-on making. Our novel research endeavors are frequently derived from the interface of technology, design and synthetic biology.
